Analogue Tape Glove

How cool. Instead of moving the tape over a play head, the tape is fixed stationary to a wall. As a participant, you wear a glove that has the playhead on your finger trip, allowing you to drag your finger over the tape to play the audio.

This interactive sound installation deals with exploring the physical connection between people and technology. A tangible user interface, taking the form of a glove is worn by the participant as they are invited to interact with an analogue tape surface. As the glove comes in contact with the tape, sound is generated and can be manipulated via touch and movement.

The banned / controversial M.I.A "Born Free" video

Synopsis:
Authorities round up ginger kids, drive to an open field and make them run the gauntlet.

The footage is pretty graphic and I can see why it's courted controversy. I can also see what M.I.A are trying to say. Despite the content it's really well shot and the execution hits the right notes. The video is so strong that it drowns out the rather dull track - which is a good thing!

Great light installation - I want one for my living room!

I'm really into light installations at the moment and here's a really nice one called "Radius" by Candy & Candy that's intended for domestic use. Intelligent uses of light create atmosphere and this example certainly hits the mark on that front..

2 Girls Kissing / 1 Girl Bouncing - Music videos go 'back to basics'

The latest music video for "I Can Hardly Wait" by Complicated Universal Cum has already gained over 150k views in just 3 days - and you can see why! Pretty simple idea but seems to be doing the trick. Just goes to show that SFW material can still generate considerable levels of buzz and discussion.

Very similar to the Inevitable Backlash video for "Gives You Hell" that was released at the back end of March.

Clever or crass?
